MediaStorm Launches Two New Films for Verse

We are so pleased to announce the launch of two new films with Verse, an immersive interactive storytelling platform. The Last Move and Life After Water are part of a four-story partnership that pairs the MediaStorm storytelling ethos with Verse’s innovative platform. Both films were recently honored by Photographer of the Year International, one of the oldest and most prestigious photojournalism organizations in the world. The Last Move received third place in Documentary Journalism while Life After Water received the Award of Excellence for Multimedia Issue Reporting. MediaStorm’s Andrew Michael Ellis was also recognized as Multimedia Photographer of the Year. Griffin Museum Of Photography Announces 2015 Focus Award Recipients

The Griffin Museum of Photography announced the recipients of its tenth annual Focus Awards. “This year’s Focus awardees are a combination of local and international photography trendsetters and innovators. The Focus Awards recognize the hard work, dedication and enthusiasm of a select group of enthusiastic, creative individuals and organizations dedicated to the art and business of photography,” says Paula Tognarelli, executive director of the Griffin Museum. MediaStorm received two nominations for the 36th Annual News and Documentary Emmy Awards. Hungry Horse, our film collaboration with Pieter ten Hoopen was a nominee in the New Approaches: Arts, Lifestyle, Culture category. Japan's Disposable Workers by Shiho Fukada, produced in collaboration with Pulitzer Center on Crisis Reporting was a nominee in the New Approaches: Current News Coverage category. MediaStorm Wins NPPA Best of Photojournalism Awards’ Best Use of Multimedia & More

MediaStorm is delighted to announce that The Long Night, our feature-length collaboration with multimedia journalist Tim Matsui funded by the Alexia Foundation, was named Best Use Of Multimedia in NPPA's 2015 Best Of Photojournalism Multimedia contest. The project was also recognized with first place in the Documentary Multimedia Story category. The Los Angeles Times' Product of Mexico was awarded second place in the category while third place went to The Denver Post's Trying to Live, Trying to Learn. MediaStorm was awarded second place in the Multimedia Portfolio category for Hungry Horse: Legends of the Everyday, The Long Night, Japan's Disposable Workers, The Last Chapter, Coney Island Jay and Inside Tracks. The Denver Post took first place in the category, while St. Paul Pioneer Press and the Los Angeles Times received third place and honorable mention respectively.
