During the week of September 19-25, 2009, we brought 6 talented professionals together to collaborate with the MediaStorm team at the fifth MediaStorm Advanced Multimedia Reporting Workshop. Family Kocktail by Deanne Fitzmaurice, Stan Alcorn and Doug Grant Kryssy Kocktail always dreamed of leaving her troubled family to join the circus. Now she eats fire and sits on an electric chair as a performer at the Coney Island Circus Sideshow. She also realized her dream of being part of a family. See the project. MediaStorm looking for Spring 2010 interns- apply by October 15, 2009.

We're looking for interns for Spring 2010. If you're motivated, highly-organized, and passionate about multimedia, we'd love to hear from you. Start dates are flexible. We're looking for experience in multimedia production, design, motion graphics, and/or programming for web. Internships will be paid. We've pulled together some of the most frequent questions applicants ask- please read through these, and let us know if you have any other questions. Application Deadline is October 15, 2009. Apply here. What will I be doing? This is a production internship. You will be working closely with the MediaStorm team to produce multimedia projects. MediaStorm Workshops launch new projects

During the week of June 20-26, 2009, we brought 8 talented professionals together to collaborate with the MediaStorm team at the fourth MediaStorm Advanced Multimedia Reporting Workshop. This was a special workshop for us - given the tough economic climate and the critical need for multimedia training, we decided to hold a one-time, tuition-free Workshop, and we were thrilled and inspired at the number of people who put the time into applying for this opportunity. EITI and MediaStorm collaborate on ‘Making resources work for people’

The Extractive Industries Transparency Initiative (EITI) and MediaStorm recently collaborated on 'Making resources work for people'. This project explores EITI's efforts to establish resource transparency around the world. About the Project: 3.5 billion people live in countries rich in oil, gas and minerals. With good governance the exploitation of these resources can generate large revenues to foster growth and reduce poverty. However when governance is weak, it may result in poverty, corruption, and conflict. The Extractive Industries Transparency Initiative (EITI) aims to strengthen governance by improving transparency and accountability in the extractives sector. The EITI sets a global standard for companies to publish what they pay and for governments to disclose what they receive.

Bob Sacha to speak about Bearing Witness at ASPP

Bob Sacha - The Anatomy of a Prize Winning Multimedia Production - from the First Idea to the Finished Piece For more than 25 years Bob Sacha was a prize winning photojournalist constantly traveling the world on assignment for National Geographic, Life and other magazines. Then in January 2008, he joined the award winning multimedia production studio MediaStorm. His first assignment started with an email from Brian Storm: " I have a big project for you to start with working with Reuters to create a five year anniversary project on Iraq. I think it's going to be a really important project that will get quite a bit of attention when it comes out....."
