Support MediaStorm’s First Original Film – Fight Hate with Love on Kickstarter Now

  • Post author:

Over the course of a year, MediaStorm has dedicated itself to telling the story of one family trying to come together after a long period of incarceration. Fight Hate with Love is about how the impacts of incarceration, poverty, and racial injustice can tear down the most valuable thing we have -- our family. In an era that shines a spotlight on the terrors of mass incarceration as a whole, Fight Hate with Love takes you intimately through one family’s journey. We’ve done so much already but now we’re in the final stretch of post production and we need your help. Please support us to help make this film a reality and to help us bring it to homes all over America that need to know what it really means to live in an era of mass incarceration.

MediaStorm Launches Kickstarter Campaign for Hungry Horse by Pieter ten Hoopen

It's been nearly a decade since Pieter ten Hoopen's photography of American people and landscapes grabbed our attention. For over a year, MediaStorm has been collaborating with Pieter on a documentary film called Hungry Horse. Today we launch a Kickstarter campaign to complete the film and bring the everyday legends of Hungry Horse, Montana to the world. The Project In Hungry Horse, Pieter ten Hoopen touches on the struggles of poverty, drug use and loss. But he more accurately captures the spirit of renewal, peace and serenity in the lives of the people he documents through stunning landscapes and intimate oral histories. Hungry Horse follows the mythical structure of its subjects'  lives—Charlie Krasselt, Brad Lee Bruursema and Katie Kosnoff—and it is through their stories, and ten Hoopen’s powerful imagery that we learn about the timeless cycle of adventure, loss and renewal. Your Part By contributing this campaign, you will help us with the editing…

Support “The Penguin Counters” on Kickstarter

The Penguin Counters is a documentary of a story that’s never been told, about tackling climate change one penguin at a time. For the production team – Peter Getzels, Erik Osterholm and Harriet Gordon – it was a labor of love to follow field-biologist Ron Naveen and his team as he tracks the welfare of colonies of penguins in the world’s most pristine scientific laboratory: Antarctica.

You can help complete their project on Kickstarter.

“The Distance Between Us” on KickStarter

Photographer Chris Capozziello began to make photographs of his twin brother, Nick, in their early twenties. Nick has cerebral palsy. Though Chris didn’t set out to tell a story, the photographs he took helped him examine he and his brother’s story more deeply and move past the guilt he carried for being the healthy twin. He has compiled his photographs – along with raw, honest diary entries – into a book that you can help publish through Kickstarter.
