New Era of Motion Graphics at MediaStorm – Guardians of the Forest & 2015 Reel

MediaStorm's motion graphics department, helmed by Joe Fuller, has kept busy since our 2013 reel. From saving the forest, looking back at USAID’s food for peace program, celebrating world-renown photographers to illuminating a teen’s descent into prostitution; we've used a wide array of techniques to make complex stories accessible and appealing. Today, we are proud to present a film made in partnership with the Global Environmental Facility (GEF) to convey the importance and urgency of the sustainable management of forests. At one time forests dominated Earth’s landmass. Today, less than half of forests remain. Deforestation is a real issue affecting not only our environment, but our survival as a species. MediaStorm Presents: 60 Years for USAID

MediaStorm was enlisted by Goodfight Media, a digital storytelling organization, to bring to life a photographic history of USAID’s Food For Peace program. The film’s purpose, outside of highlighting the program’s humble beginnings and accomplishments, is to introduce the world to the new strategies being employed in food aid. 60 Years is not only a testament to Food For Peace’s accomplishments and commitment to eliminating hunger across the world, but an example of the tenacity and talent of MediaStorm's motion graphics team. MediaStorm Welcomes Summer Intern Randall Rodriguez

MediaStorm is excited to welcome Randall Rodriguez to our team as a Summer 2014 motion graphics intern. Randall is a motion graphics artist with a ravenous appetite for art, information and storytelling. This appetite bred a desire to not only consume, but create the meaningful content that became a fixture in his own life. Randall was born and raised in Orlando, FL. Drawn to street art and graffiti from a young age, he found his true home when he took his talent to the computer. Randall has worked developing motion graphics for nationally touring musicians RPM. He has also worked in television, being part of a creative team which successfully pitched multiple shows to major networks. Randall earned his Bachelor's in Digital Art and Design from Full Sail University.

I bought my first copy of Adobe After Effects in 1999.

I’ve also upgraded to versions 7, CS4, CS5, and CS6. I’ve spent dozens of hours watching all kinds of tutorials on lynda.com, tutsplus, and elsewhere.

So how come after all these years, when it comes to motion graphics, I’m still such a novice?

I think the answer is twofold.
