Co-director/Cinematographer Jessica Dimmock is the recipient of numerous international awards. In 2013, Jessica received the 2013 World Press Photo Multimedia Contest as the director and cinematographer of the Online Feature “Too Young To Wed.”
In 2011, Jessica won Kodak's Best Cinematography Award from at the Hamptons International Film Festival for WITHOUT, a narrative feature directed by Mark Jackson for which she served as co-producer. The film received an Independent Spirit Award and was nominated for a Gotham Independent Film Award. WITHOUT premiered at the Museum of Modern Art in New York City and has since garnered significant critical acclaim at festival screenings internationally, including the Film Society of Lincoln Center, Locarno International Film Festival, The London Film Festival, and Deauville. Jessica contributed 2 short films to Doctors Without Borders' Emmy-nominated campaign, “Starved for Attention.” Jessica was the photographer and additional cinematographer for the HBO series "The Weight of the Nation,” nominated for a primetime Emmy for Outstanding Nonfiction Series. She is in production for her first documentary film, Brick, which is receiving support from the Sundance Institute and Chicken and Egg pictures.
Jessica’s work as a photojournalist has appeared in The New York Times Magazine, Time, The New Yorker, W, Aperture, Photo Icon, Foto8, and Le Monde. Jessica’s other awards include the F Award for Concerned Photography, the Inge Morath Award from Magnum Photos, and the Marty Forscher Fellowship from Photo District News. In 2007, her first Monograph, The Ninth Floor, was published by Contrasto. She has had solo exhibits at Forma: The International Center of Photography, Foam: The Photography Museum of Amsterdam, Locuslux: Belgium and at the Foley Gallery in Chelsea. Jessica is represented by the VII agency.
In an apartment above Fifth Avenue, some thirty young people live in a vortex of drug addiction and despair. In "The Ninth Floor", Jessica Dimmock enters this world, exploring, in human terms, what has been lost and what may be recovered.
Too Young to Wed, a transmedia campaign using images by Stephanie Sinclair and videos by Jessica Dimmock, works to support girls who are already married and ultimately bring an end to child marriage.
