Anatomy of a Photo Project: From Stills to Multimedia- Ed Kashi and Julie Winokur

Description: Over the past decade Ed Kashi and Julie Winokur have collaborated on numerous projects that move beyond still images to result in cross-platform media, including Aging in America, an eight-year project that resulted in a book, exhibition, documentary film and Web treatment. This seminar shares their inspiring stories, discusses the implications of our changing media landscape and reveals how multimedia creates new opportunities for the visual storyteller. Implicit in this seminar is the understanding that still photography is the centerpiece of this form and that keeping the essence and unique values of still photography alive are part of the purpose of these endeavors.

Description: In this seminar, a panel of multimedia experts will explore the basics of multimedia storytelling and production, with a focus on audio and video tools and techniques. Participants will learn what equipment they need to get started, but more importantly, how to apply their storytelling skills as photojournalists or wedding photographers to the mediums of audio and video.
