The Nielsen Photo Group is currently hiring a web developer. This is a great opportunity to work as a web developer with a fun and creative team. The work location is conveniently midtown NYC, working for the Nielsen Photo Group, a subsidiary of Nielsen Business Media. The Nielsen Photo Group owns digital, trade show and print businesses like Photo District News, Rangefinder and After Capture.

The ideal candidate is a responsible and independent programmer who will help us build and maintain the next generation of our suite of photography centric websites.​

Desired skills:
PHP, Perl, Javascript, HTML, CSS, MySql, Linux, AJAX, mod_perl, Apache

Salary:
Commensurate with experience range $55,000 and up.

Required for this position:
Minimum of 2 years experience in website development
Perl back-end or mod_perl is a major plus
Strong background in HTML, Javascript and CSS
Expert knowledge of AJAX type applications
Understanding of LAMP development environment including MySql, Apache and
Linux

The ideal candidate:
Must be able to work in a deadline oriented environment
Able to manage several projects both small and large in scope
Great inter-personal and communication skills
Can work independently as well as in a team
Have a passion for web development
Ability to manage several projects
Follows technical directions well
