Photographer and filmmaker Ami Vitale‘s work has taken her to over 85 countries. Her stories tell of the endurance of the human spirit and nature in the face of overwhelming odds. For her next project, she hopes to combat poaching in Kenya by focusing on the indigenous people of Northern Kenya and their efforts to end poaching on ancestral lands by preserving their traditional way of life and strengthening their communities.

MediaStorm Guide to the Slip Tool

This article is part of a series of posts with tips and tricks from our producers' experience working with Adobe Premiere Pro CC after years of working in Final Cut Pro. To read more about why we made the switch, check out this post. One tool I often overlook when editing is the slip tool. My buddy Tim McLaughlin reintroduced me to its power last week. The slip tool allows you to change the in and out point of a single clip without affecting it’s duration or the duration of adjoining clips. Your project length stays the same. Activate the slip tool with either the shortcut key Y or by clicking on its icon in the toolbar. Next, hover over a video clip and you’ll see that your cursor change to the slip icon. World Press Photo Introduces Free Education Platform “Connected Learning”

Connected Learning is an open and free education platform on Facebook spearheaded by World Press Photo Academy. The first course, "Storytelling," is an extension of a face-to-face multimedia workshop happening now with ten selected participants from North Africa. Over the next ten weeks the Academy will be sharing tips and links provided by the trainers: Cédric Gerbehaye, DJ Clark and Matt Ford together with behind-the-scenes material from the face-to-face multimedia course.  Tutorials, assignments and video interviews with multimedia and photography professionals will also be made available to Facebook participants.
