The Center for Public Integrity is looking for a multimedia editor with skills in video journalism and web documentary production. The position is based in Washington, DC.

Summary

The position works investigative reporters to produce compelling visual journalism for the organizations websites publicintegrity.org and icij.org, and other digital platforms.

The ideal candidate will be a newshound with excellent narrative skills, a strong visual style, and at least three years’ experience producing video for a news organization.

This position will fulfill a crucial role in promoting and distributing the Center’s accountability reporting to new audiences. You will be joining a team of passionate journalists and news developers dedicated to our ambitious agenda of producing digital journalism of the highest caliber.

Qualifications

  • At least three years’ experience in shooting, editing, and producing video journalism;
  • Experience shooting with HDSLRs preferred;
  • Excellent editing skills using Final Cut or Adobe Premier;
  • Proficiency in producing motion graphics and video titles;
  • Proven examples of high-quality, immersive, digital film-making;
  • Strong attention to detail;
  • Ability to collaborate with a diverse team; yet work independently to make sound editorial judgments about shot and audio selection, and manage your own time;
  • Willingness to travel for assignments when required;
  • Passionate about investigative reporting.
