The Last Move tells the story of Michael Thomasson, the owner of the world’s largest collection of video games. Michael has devoted his life to video games, but there’s one thing he loves more than his games: his family. The Last Move chronicles Michael’s attempt to help his family at an enormous cost.

Connected to the Top takes a close-up look at the 2012 Everest expedition with The North Face athletes: Conrad Anker, Sam Elias, Kris Erickson, Emily Harrington and Hilaree O’Neill.

The PDN Photo Annual, now in its 16th year, celebrates innovative work by photographers from all over the world. A jury of 31 industry icons selected the winners from thousands of entries in 10 categories: Advertising/Corporate Work, Magazine/Editorial, Photo Books, Photojournalism/Documentary, Sports, Self-Promo, Personal Work, Stock Photography, Video/Multimedia and Student Work.

The June issue of PDN features a complete gallery of the 183 winning entries. The winning work can also be viewed online at the 2016 PDN Photo Annual gallery (pdnphotoannual.com/gallery/2016). The winners will also be recognized during the Photo Annual party on Thursday, June 23 at the TriBeCa Rooftop in New York City.

“We continue to be impressed and amazed with the level of excellence we see each year,” said Lauren Wendle, vice president & group publisher at PDN.  “For 16 years, PDN’s Photo Annual has recognized and honored the creative thinking of today’s visual storytellers and, with the help and support of the photographic community, will continue to honor those whose works inspire us.”

Thank you so much to PDN for this special recognition and congratulations to all of this year’s winners.
