    Today MediaStorm has joined the Docuseek2 streaming platform. Docuseek2 is the premiere streaming source for independent, environmental and social-issue documentaries for the educational market, with more than 800 films from Bullfrog Films®, Icarus Films (including The Fanlight Collection and dGenerate Films), Kartemquin Films, KimStim, the National Film Board of Canada, Terra Nova Films, Scorpion TV, and now MediaStorm. The 19th UNAFF starts tomorrow (October 20-30)

The 19th UNAFF (United Nations Association Film Festival) starts tomorrow, October 20th, and is a “can’t-miss-event” for all documentary film fans in the San Francisco Bay area. The festival, one of the oldest documentary film festivals in the country, shares a lot of the goals MediaStorm strives towards in its mission, promoting education, awareness, and social change through images, dialogue and action. UNAFF celebrates the power of documentary films dealing with human rights issues, the environment, racism, women’s issues, universal education, war and peace. The theme of this year's ten day event is Compass for a Better World, and its program includes 60 films from almost 30 different countries, as well as several free panels on issues such as Guns and Society and Art for Social Change. Northwestern University Medill School’s New ‘Media Innovation & Entrepreneurship’ Specialization

Northwestern University's Medill School of Journalism, Media, Integrated Marketing Communications is offering a new specialization around leading, launching, and helping build digital media businesses. Medill’s new Media Innovation and Entrepreneurship Specialization provides an opportunity to "learn what makes media businesses successful, through an interdisciplinary education that encompasses technology, design, content strategy, audience development, analytics and business fundamentals." 37th Annual Eugene W. Smith Funds Awards

The W. Eugene Smith Memorial Fund Grant, selected from over 300 worldwide submissions, is presented annually to photographers whose work carries forward the tradition practiced by Eugene Smith during his 45-year photojournalism career. The grant enables recipients to undertake and complete worthy photojournalistic projects. This year's ceremony will be held on Thursday, October 13, at 7pm at the School of Visual Arts Theater in New York City. For more information and to RSVP, please click here.
