POV is now  accepting applications for media-hacking teams for  its 2016 Digital Labs in New York City, Los Angeles and San Francisco. The application deadline for all three labs is Friday, August 19, 2016 at midnight Eastern / 9pm Pacific. There is one form for teams proposing project ideas and a second form for applicants not proposing ideas but who would like to be added to a team. Note that anyone can propose an idea, whether you consider yourself a "media maker" or a "technologist" or both or something else! The Bob and Diane Fund is a new grant making program that will support visual storytelling about Alzheimer's and dementia. The Fund's founder, Gina Martin, says this about the Fund: "Our vision is a world where Alzheimer’s disease is cured and millions of people are spared the cruel and painful experience of losing a loved one to this awful disease. As a daughter of Alzheimer’s, I believe that visual storytelling can be a powerful way to advocate for the increased public and private research and spending needed to find a cure." Each year, the Bob and Diane Fund will award $5,000 to a visual storyteller—still photography, video, and multimedia—for stories about Alzheimer's or dementia.
