The Detroit News is looking for a creative video producer with passion and skills for storytelling. Successful candidates can: Pitch story ideas and follow them through the entire shooting and editing process. Develop compelling video stories for Detnews.com. Propose ideas and approaches for video series or long-term projects. Work with photo staff to develop and improve video story-telling for daily and project stories. Requirements: Three years of professional video experience in a news or documentary setting. Expertise in video shooting and editing. Demonstrated excellence as a writer and visual storyteller. The ability to adapt to changes in equipment, software and workflow. The following is a list of upcoming application deadlines for photography workshops, awards and scholarships: May 14: Eddie Adams Workshop Application Applications are now being accepted to the 2007 Eddie Adams Workshop, Barnstorm, held annually in Jeffersonville, N.Y. Barnstorm is tuition-free, and sponsored by Nikon, Inc. This year's Barnstorm will be held October 5 to 8, and applicants will be notified in July. May 15: Inge Morath Prize Magnum Photos is accepting entries for the fifth Inge Morath Prize, which is awarded to a woman photographer under 30 years of age.
