This newly created position of video producer calls for working on breaking news and creating major projects as well as providing training for other journalists. Description: ABQjournal seeks a journalist to join our multimedia newsroom to be the primary source of high quality video editorial and advertising content. Demonstrated experience with Final Cut Pro, AVID or equivalent software is required. Photoshop and Flash experience are a plus. Candidates should submit a letter of interest, resume and a list of links of work samples to dfriedman@abqjournal.com. This person will shoot, gather, select, distribute and edit video clips; and manage and coordinate various video content projects and schedules, including video from the public. Operation Azra Exhibit and Online Print Auction

Renowned photojournalists from around the world, from prestigious publications such as National Geographic, VII, Time, Newsweek and the New York Times, are donating signed, museum-quality prints to Operation Azra, an exhibition and online print auction to benefit victims of acid burning in Pakistan. Proceeds from the auction will go to support female victims of this terribly violent act and to raise awareness about a fate inflicted on many women in Pakistan. Marked with dishonor and often excluded by family, their disfigurment often forces them to the edges of society. Bidding via the online auction opens midnight EDT June 6, 2007 and closes midnight EDT July 1, 2007. Soul of Athens

With the outstanding Soul of Athens project, the students of the School of Visual Communication at Ohio University, led by Zach Wise of digitalartwork.net and Brian Storm of MediaStorm.org, have created an impressive multimedia document of the Athens, Ohio community. With a diverse group of more than 25 stories, produced in multiple mediums and wrapped up in a beautifully designed and architeted site interface, this remarkable project is an excellent example of the power of multimedia storytelling.
