Operation Azra Exhibit and Online Print Auction

Renowned photojournalists from around the world, from prestigious publications such as National Geographic, VII, Time, Newsweek and the New York Times, are donating signed, museum-quality prints to Operation Azra, an exhibition and online print auction to benefit victims of acid burning in Pakistan. Proceeds from the auction will go to support female victims of this terribly violent act and to raise awareness about a fate inflicted on many women in Pakistan. Marked with dishonor and often excluded by family, their disfigurment often forces them to the edges of society. Bidding via the online auction opens midnight EDT June 6, 2007 and closes midnight EDT July 1, 2007. With the outstanding Soul of Athens project, the students of the School of Visual Communication at Ohio University, led by Zach Wise of digitalartwork.net and Brian Storm of MediaStorm.org, have created an impressive multimedia document of the Athens, Ohio community. With a diverse group of more than 25 stories, produced in multiple mediums and wrapped up in a beautifully designed and architeted site interface, this remarkable project is an excellent example of the power of multimedia storytelling. Documentary Animation: Colby Buzzell’s Iraq Ambush Story

His writing was so powerful, and his stories so captivating, that his work was subsequently published in a book entitled My War: Killing Time in Iraq. PBS's Operation Homecoming: Writing the Wartime Expierience included one of Buzzell's stories in the form of this remarkable animation entitled Men in Black.
