Finally, a custom designed multimedia bag

Think Tank Photo makes some mighty fine bags and so when they sent MediaStorm samples of their new Multimedia Wired Up Collection bags, we were excited. Recently I had a chance to put them through their paces working in the field. Intelligently designed and well constructed, the combination of the WiredUp 20 beltpack and the Mic Drop bag best fit the still and audio gear I carry. The belt is brilliant for taking the weight off your shoulder and I find that adding a strap helped me balance it perfectly between my hips and shoulder and made it a snap to spin it from back to front so I could quickly change from carrying mode to working mode. The belt also serves as base to attach other components, including a cool headphone hook (it's included) and the auxiliary Mic Drop bag which big enough to carry a large "dead cat" wind screen…

MediaStorm produces ‘A Climate for Life’ for the International League of Conservation Photographers

The International League of Conservation Photographers (ILCP) and MediaStorm have collaborated to produce A Climate for Life: Meeting the Global Challenge This multimedia story looks at the results of climate change on our planet, tracing these effects from the poles to the tropics and examining how those diverse regions are interconnected. Using stunning photography and video from some of the greatest photographers working in nature, it includes interviews with photographers and experts relating their experiences in the field and also proposing possible solutions. The mission of the ILCP is to further environmental and cultural conservation through photography.

Bearing Witness: Five Years of the Iraq War

Reuters and MediaStorm collaborated to create Bearing Witness: Five Years of the Iraq War, launched to coincide with the war's 5th anniversary. The site features profiles of three Reuter's journalists who have more than 23 years combined experience reporting and photographing in Iraq. Reuters video, photography, info-graphics and journalists are showcased in this 5 chapter interactive application created from more than 20 hours of video footage and images selected from 3,600 of the best of Reuters photographs -- some published here for the first time. Additional chapters include a timeline of the Iraq War made up of 223 still images and 15 videos, and five maps drawn from dozens of pages of data.

Not Forgotten

Will Yurman of the Rochester Democrat and Chronicle turned a daily assignment covering a memorial service into a year-long project exploring the lives behind the statistics. To create Not Forgotten, last year he visited the families of every homicide victim and created short multimedia portraits of those who had been killed. One good thing about living in Rochester, New York is that all the homicides fit in a single flash window. But bravo for imagining the people behind the numbers and chasing down every story.
