We’re accepting applications for our Spring 2014 Internship Program until tomorrow, November 1st, 5 p.m. EST. If you’re motivated, highly organized, and passionate about multimedia, we’d love to hear from you. The internship generally runs from January to April, but start dates are flexible. We’re looking for applicants with experience in multimedia production, design, motion graphics, and/or web development. Internships are paid. “Follow My Steps,” A Short Film By Andrew Hida

Follow My Steps, a short film by multimedia storyteller and awesome former intern, Andrew Hida, will screen at the IFC Center (323 Avenue of the Americas, New York, NY) on Wednesday, November 20th, 2013. Follow My Steps follows Andrew Cunningham, a typical 13 year-old. He complains about studying, and spends hours playing on Xbox Live with friends. The only difference is he is in a powered wheelchair. Born with a rare form of muscular dystrophy, Andrew relies on his father Tom for nearly everything. As Andrew enters the roller coaster of adolescence, he must deal with growing pains, as well as his struggle with independence, and the uncertainties of his disease. In an unlikely relationship, Andrew finds a brother in 21-year-old Tony Reuter, born with brittle bone disease. Finding his way out of a difficult childhood, Tony guides Andrew as they both approach milestones in…

Vinay Jawahar’s People Like Us

After growing up Bombay, India and spending several years studying and working in the United States, Vinay Jawahar returned to India with his camera to find something.

“I toyed with the idea of ‘Invisible India’ or, less dramatically, ‘The India You Missed While You Were at The Mall’,” he tells The Boston Coffee House. “Something really didactic and embarrassingly unsubtle about the India eclipsed by gated communities, swanky (and less than swanky) malls, and gleaming office towers. A second (and secondary) instinct was to tease out a technical or, if I were feeling truly bold, an artistic narrative.”

While those stories are told, Jawahar’s photo essay ultimately documents something more fundamental – memory of a simpler time.

“These photographs remind me that that country [I remember] is still a reality,” said Jawahar.
