If you haven't seen it yet, you should head over to Dan Chung's DSLR News Shooter blog. He's creating a great resource for anyone using DSLRs to shoot HD video. We're excited to see this blog develop- we're still trying to figure this relatively new world of DSLR video out ourselves, and his behind the scenes looks at how he's doing work are super-helpful. You can check out the amazing 1080p footage of "Another Night in Beijing", shot with the new Canon Eos7D, and weigh in on whether rolling shutter matters for news audiences. There's also a great video on rigging up a new 7D (if you thought you were going to shoot great video straight out of the box, think again). MediaStorm and Council on Foreign Relations collaborate on Global Governance Monitor: Finance

The Council on Foreign Relations, in collaboration with MediaStorm, has launched the second section of their Global Governance Monitor, an in-depth look at multilateral responses to today’s pressing global challenges. Finance looks at the world's economy through time, from the Bretton Woods Agreements in 1944 to today. Incorporating a map, an interactive timeline, and a comprehensive overview, the Global Governance Monitor aims to shed light on our economic history, providing information as we lead up to the G20 summit. The Program on International Institutions and Global Governance (IIGG) at the Council on Foreign Relations (CFR) aims to identify the institutional requirements for effective multilateral cooperation in the twenty-first century. The program is motivated by recognition that the architecture of global governance-largely reflecting the world as it existed in 1945-has not kept pace with fundamental changes in the international system. MediaStorm welcomes intern Maisie Crow

We are excited to welcome Maisie Crow as our fall 2009 Intern. Maisie Crow is an award-winning photographer and a graduate student in the School of Visual Communication at Ohio University. Maisie was the recipient of the 2009 Pierre and Alexandra Boulat Association Award, and also won the 2009 Ian Parry Scholarship for her series, Love Me. She spent the summer as the photography intern at The Boston Globe, and previously worked at Patuxtent Publishing Company. She received her undergraduate degree from the University of Texas at Austin and studied for a semester at the Salt Institute of Documentary Studies. In 2007, she attended the Eddie Adams Workshop. MediaStorm accepts interns throughout the year. The deadline for our spring 2010 Internship is October 15, 2009. Go here for more information.

MediaStorm projects to screen September 10 at Galapagos Art Space

Just a reminder- On September 10 (tomorrow!), MediaStorm will be screening a full evening of multimedia video projects at Galapagos Art Space, including our Emmy award-winning and nominated pieces, Intended Consequences, Bloodline, and Kingsley's Crossing. The show will begin at 5:30pm, and will run throughout the evening, with new projects beginning every 20-30 minutes. This is a rare chance to see these projects on the big screen, so don't miss out! It's also a great opportunity to explore DUMBO during September's 1st Thursday Gallery Walk- tons of great exhibitions will be open, and local restaurants and bars will have specials galore. We'll see you there!
