Never Coming Home tonight at Bubble Lounge

For those in New York City, there will be a special showing at 7:30 this evening at The Bubble Lounge of the extended 18-minute version of the film Never Coming Home. An updated version of the project is also now available on MediaStorm. Tonight also marks the launch of the book version of the project from photojournalist Andrew Lichtenstein. Originally published on MediaStorm in 2005, Never Coming Home, by Lichtenstein and audio producer Zac Barr, has been expanded to include never-seen-before stories from several other American families who lost loved ones in Iraq. Atlanta Photojournalism Seminar

Just a reminder- the Atlanta Photojournalism Seminar is coming up on November 30 & December 1, in Atlanta, GA. Deadline for contest entries is November 7. Speakers this year will include Kristin Ashburn, Renee Byer, Dan Beatty, Gary Coronado, Pat Drew, and Will Yurman. The Stumping Grounds

Even though the election is over a year away, coverage has begun. A group of six freelance photographers has spent the last five months in Iowa covering the 2008 Presidential Campaign, and will remain there through the caucus in January. These photographers are providing an indepth look at all of the campaigns coming through this important election state, from the candidate visits to the local preparations. Online MA/Postgraduate Photojournalism and Documentary Photography course launching

The London College of Communication is launching an online MA/Postgraduate Diploma Photojournalism and Documentary Photography distance learning program, to begin January 2008. This part-time course aims to mirror real world practices and prepare students to enter the professional world. Many presentations by visiting speakers will be delivered via podcasts, and students will be encouranged to make use of blogs and online distribution. The course is entirely online, with no requirements for attendance in London. The program will largely focus on digital transitions, and multimedia projects will be emphasized.
