UnionDocs Kicks Off Documentary Fundamentals Workshop Series

Beginning Sunday, April 27th, 2014, UnionDocs will present a nuts-and-bolts professional development series designed for the beginning or intermediate documentary filmmaker. Documentary Fundamentals @ UnionDocs is a six-week course culminating in a certificate of completion. Registrants can also attend individual sessions. Series passes are available now in limited supply at the discounted price of $125 on UnionDocs.org.

Join Brian Storm at Imprimatur: Unbinding the Book

Imprimatur, a joint effort between indie publishing platform Blurb and the visual arts studio Jotta, is a new global book arts project. Artists and designers are challenged to redefine the concept of what a book can be by creating original books and installations that push the boundaries of how books are experienced. Blurb will be hosting a launch event for the project in New York City on Monday, April 21st, 2014. Event Details The New York event will provide an evening of talks celebrating books, book-making, and illustrated storytelling alongside a set of inspirational installations and film. The Magnum Foundation invites NYC-based photographers to explore multi-platform projects at their Photography, Expanded Lab: The Story of Data: Visualization, Mapping, and Photography on Tuesday, April 29th and Sunday, May 4th, 2014.

On Tuesday, April 1st, 2014 the W. Euguene Smith Memorial Fund will host At the Top of the World: Photography Today with Kira Pollack in Conversation with Jonathan D. Woods at Aperture Gallery and Bookstore at 6:30 p.m.

A $5 donation is requested for entry. This event is free for students with I.D. and Members of Aperture at the $50 level and above.

Join Brian Storm for Storytelling Workshop at the University of Oregon

MediaStorm Executive Producer Brian Storm will visit the University of Oregon School of Journalism and Communication on February 20th-22nd, 2014 as the 2014 Frazier Journalist-in-Residence. While in attendance Brian will lead workshops for students and participate in discussions with faculty in addition to a leading a public presentation: Multimedia Storytelling @ MediaStorm from 7:00-9:00 p.m. on Thursday, Feb. 20th in the Ford Alumni Center Ballroom.
