Photo Competitions: World Press Photo Winners, Px3 awards, and an exhibition

Winners for this year's World Press Photo Competition have been announced. British Photographer Tim Hetherington won the 2007 World Press Photo of the Year, for his image of a US soldier resting in a bunker. Other winners include John Moore/Getty Images, who won 1st Place Singles and 1st Place Stories in the Spot News Category, and Balazs Gardi/VII Network/Alexia Foundation, who won 1st Place in both Singles and Stories in the General News Category. December Digital Journalist features David Kennerly and Diana Walker

This month's Digital Journalist features work from two renowned photographers, both with new books out. David Kennerly has just released "Extraordinary Circumstances: The Presidency of Gerald R. Ford"- an intimate look at the daily life in the White House during Ford's administration. Another well-known White House photographer, Diana Walker, has also released a book- "The Bigger Picture: 30 Years of Portraits" - featuring not only the high-profile subjects she's often known for, but also portraits of everyday life. Other features this month include an editorial on imprisoned AP Photographer Bilal Hussein, and dispatches from Chris Hondros, William B. Plowman, and Véronique de Viguerie.
