We're very excited to announce the launch of our Online Training. When we began our in-house Advanced Multimedia Workshops three years ago, we could not have anticipated the influx of customized training requests that we would get. We recognize that there's a large need for multimedia instruction, both for those just getting started as well as for experienced video and still journalists, and we've spent the last couple of years traveling around the world, talking with other multimedia journalists and formulating an online curriculum. MediaStorm Multimedia Workshop launches The Amazing Amy

From March 5-11, 2011, a team of four multimedia journalists collaborated with the MediaStorm team at our MediaStorm Multimedia Workshop. Participants spent a week reporting, editing, and producing The Amazing Amy. The Amazing Amy by Terje Bringedal, Torsten Kjellstrand, Espen Rasumssen, and Finn Ryan Using humor and a love of fantasy, "The Amazing Amy" connects with audiences through performing strenuous yoga-based contortion acts in New York City. Job Opening: Video/Multimedia Producer at American Progress

American Progress is seeking a Video/Multimedia Producer to lead the creation and distribution of video and other multimedia products. Coordinating the work of a videographer and interactive designer, the producer will work with policy experts and website editors to turn American Progress policy initiatives and messaging into compelling video, audio, and interactive graphics; distribute them to intended audiences through multiple channels; and demonstrate a measurable impact. The position requires a passion for progressive politics and policy, strong news judgment, superb scriptwriting skills, solid video editing, and expertise in online marketing and video distribution. In addition, the producer will serve as the fill-in camera operator for American Progress events. Responsibilities: Manage projects from conception through completion. Knight Digital Media Center Multimedia Workshop accepting applications for July Workshop

Fellowship applications are now being accepted for Knight Digital Media Center's Multimedia Workshop, to be held July 17-22, 2011, at UC Berkeley. Application deadline is May 23, 2011. The Multimedia Reporting and Convergence Workshop offers intensive training that covers all aspects of multimedia news production; from basic storyboarding to hands-on instruction with hardware and software for production of multimedia stories. Participants will be organized into teams to report on a pre-arranged story in the Bay Area, and then construct a multimedia presentation based on that coverage. Asian Center for Journalism offering online Multimedia Diploma Program

The Asian Center for Journalism at the Ateneo de Manila University is offering a new Multimedia Diploma program. The one year diploma is taught mainly online. It is designed for any professional journalist (writers, photographers, radio and TV reporters) wishing to diversify their story telling and embrace the world of new media. From their site: The Diploma in Multimedia Journalism program seeks to raise the bar in professionalism amongst Asian journalists in their ability to undertake ethical cross platform multimedia journalistic projects by providing comprehensive institutional training primarily to working journalists and editors. 10 Scholarships are available for Asian journalists.
