MediaStorm welcomes interns Juliette Lynch and Sam Saccone

MediaStorm welcomes interns Juliette Lynch and Sam Saccone to our team. They will be working with us this spring on some exciting multimedia and interactive design projects. Juliette Lynch is a multimedia journalist who recently graduated from Syracuse University with degrees in Photojournalism and International Relations. Juliette is passionate about stories that focus on human rights and social justice issues. She recently finished an internship working as a daily shooter at the Philadelphia Inquirer, which followed a fellowship with News21, a Carnegie and Knight Foundations educational journalism initiative. She spent the summer producing multimedia stories that looked at the issues veterans in northern Washington face upon returning home from war. Her work was featured on the NPR Picture Show, LA Times Framework, and she was the 2010 Alexia Foundation student grant winner for her ongoing project, "Growing Up Girl." MediaStorm produces Portraits of Heroes at Home for Sears

MediaStorm and Sears recently collaborated to produce Portraits of Heroes at Home. Sears hired photojournalists, John Moore and Shaul Schwarz, to document the stories of four soldiers. Heroes at Home is an ongoing program to aid military families founded by Sears. Portraits of Heroes at Home follows Pulitzer Prize Winning photojournalist John Moore as he creates portraits of four soldiers, and learns of their harrowing injuries on the battlefield and their remarkable stories of physical and mental recovery.

Now Hiring: MediaStorm looking for innovative Developer and Motion Graphics Designer

MediaStorm is looking for a passionate and self-motivated Developer to implement and customize PHP and MySQL code for MediaStorm's publication and client projects. The ideal candidate will have proven technical expertise in creating scalable, database-driven web sites in PHP and MySQL. They will be working with front-end developers/designers to lead and execute development. MediaStorm is also looking for an innovative Motion Graphics Designer to elevate projects on MediaStorm.com as well as projects for MediaStorm's clients and workshops. MediaStorm produces ‘How Will We Feed Them?’ for the International Fund for Agricultural Development

The International Fund for Agricultural Development (IFAD) recently commissioned MediaStorm to create a compelling story titled "How Will We Feed Them" that would accompany their Rural Poverty Report 2011. MediaStorm sent producer Brad Horn to Madagascar to work with an IFAD-funded organization called the Rural Income Promotion Program. We need more food and we need it now. To meet the food needs of the 21st Century the nations of the world must make it easy to live and prosper and rural areas. Moravavy Seraphine and her daughter Maria are examples of what's at stake. MediaStorm Multimedia Workshop launches new projects, Applications now open for 2011 Workshops

From November 13-19, 2010, we held our eighth MediaStorm Multimedia Workshop. Two teams of talented professionals, along with MediaStorm Producers Tim McLaughlin and Jennifer Redfearn, researched, reported, and produced the following projects: Mr. Blues by Mariana Bazo, Benjamin Norman, and J. Pinkley Samuel Hargress Jr. is the owner of Paris Blues bar in Harlem, New York. The bar attracts a cast of characters that could have come from Cheers, Harlem-style. While witnessing dramatic changes in the neighborhood, Sam created a timeless place where regulars dance in their godfather hats, snakeskin leather shoes, and 1940’s styled zoot suits. Running with Scissors by Ricky John Molloy, Thomas Tolstrup and Nancy J. Haws Brian Machon has been practicing his craft for over 20 years and has close relationships with his clients.
