 MediaStorm Methodology Workshop Staff & Participants 2018 marks our 11th year of training at MediaStorm. Each year our courses attract leading industry professionals looking to advance their storytelling skills. Over 200 participants have come through our professional workshops and we continue to be humbled by how much they take away from the experience. Documentary filmmaker Mariana Keller said, "Attending the Methodology workshop was an incredibly catalytic experience. My biggest takeaway was demystifying MediaStorm's entire production and brand positioning process. These guys are not wizards. They are regular people with insane talent and an unspeakable drive." Patrick Wellever joins MediaStorm as a Full Stack Developer

We are thrilled to welcome Patrick Wellever, our new Full Stack Developer, to the MediaStorm family. During the past decade, Patrick has worked in various roles at the intersection of journalism and technology. Before joining MediaStorm, he was a digital producer at National Geographic, where he worked on a major digital overhaul of the Out of Eden Walk project -- a decade-long storytelling odyssey tracing the pathways of ancient human migration out of Africa and across the globe. Prior to that, he spent four years with the Knight Science Journalism Program at MIT, where he organized training opportunities in digital media production and web technologies for visiting fellows, in addition to overseeing the program's web presence and internal technology needs. Patrick's background also includes stints at a daily newspaper in Michigan and a small software company offering a hosted publishing platform and other services for news media outlets. Join Magnum Photos two-day masterclass on storytelling through documentary photography in San Francisco

Magnum Photos is excited to announce a professional practice workshop in San Francisco, taking place on Saturday & Sunday November 11-12, 2017 at SF Camerawork. MediaStorm's founder and executive producer Brian Storm will be joining Magnum photographer Matt Black, and Mother Jones magazine Photo Editor Mark Murrmann, for this workshop that will include invaluable inspiration and practical advice for early and mid-career photographers. The event is a two-day photographic masterclass centered around photographic storytelling in which we grapple with such questions as what makes a good story, how to choose and narrow in on your subject, the importance of editing and how to connect with your audience.
