NPPF scholarships are awarded to encourage those with the talent and dedication to photojournalism and who need financial help to continue their studies. These awards are directed toward those studying full-time or returning to college. The Bob East, Reid Blackburn, Bob Baxter, Kit C. King and Jimi Lott scholarships are endowed by donations from friends, family and news organizations. The Rich Clarkson Founders Scholarship is funded by a generous contribution from Mr. Clarkson. The Roberts Camera Scholarship is funded by Roberts Camera stores in Indianapolis and Carmel, Indiana. The G. Gordon Yoder News Video Workshop Grant was funded by a gift from television news pioneer and former NPPF board member G. Gordon Yoder. NPPF provides funding for the NPPF Still and Multimedia Scholarship, the NPPF TV News Scholarship and the College Photographer of the Year International awards through donations from NPPA members. MediaStorm is looking for an organized and motivated Operations & Social Media Manager to oversee communications and keep productions running smoothly. The ideal candidate will be an adept communicator, have some experience with multimedia, and be eager and interested in taking ownership of projects and supporting a growing multimedia production studio.

The Alexia Foundation is pleased to announce that it is now accepting applications for its 2016 Professional Grant. The deadline for submissions for the Professional Grant is 2 p.m. Jan. 31, 2016. The Student Grant application will open Feb. 3, 2016 with the deadline at 2 p.m. on March 3, 2016. The Professional Grant Winner will receive $20,000 to help produce his or her proposed project. The goal of The Alexia Foundation Grants is to give voice to those who go unheard, foster cultural understanding and expose social injustice. The strength of the proposal will be judged equally to photographic skills. The grants go to those who clearly and concisely propose significant projects that share in the Foundation’s mission and who also submit photographic or motion materials that reflect the ability to execute the proposed project.
