2015 MacArthur Fellows Includes Photographer LaToya Ruby Frazier

Recognizing 24 exceptionally creative individuals with a track record of achievement and the potential for significant contributions in the future, the Foundation today named the 2015 MacArthur Fellows. Fellows will each receive a no-strings-attached stipend of $625,000, allowing recipients maximum freedom to follow their own creative visions. "These 24 delightfully diverse MacArthur Fellows are shedding light and making progress on critical issues, pushing the boundaries of their fields, and improving our world in imaginative, unexpected ways," said MacArthur President Julia Stasch. "Their work, their commitment, and their creativity inspire us all." Included in the class of 2015 is photographer LaToya Ruby Frazier who also received the ICP Infinity Award last year in the publication category. MediaStorm received two nominations for the 36th Annual News and Documentary Emmy Awards. Hungry Horse, our film collaboration with Pieter ten Hoopen was a nominee in the New Approaches: Arts, Lifestyle, Culture category. Japan's Disposable Workers by Shiho Fukada, produced in collaboration with Pulitzer Center on Crisis Reporting was a nominee in the New Approaches: Current News Coverage category. The W. Eugene Smith Memorial Fund cordially invites you to the 36th Annual W. Eugene Smith Grants In Humanistic Photography and Howard Chapnick Grant For The Advancement Of Photojournalism. The event will be held: Wednesday, October 14, 2015 The School of Visual Arts (SVA) Theatre 333 West 23rd St. (between 8th and 9th Ave.) New York, NY 10011 from 7:00 p.m. - 8:30 p.m. Doors open at 6:15.
