NPPA Best of Photojournalism Awards 2014 Announced

MediaStorm is proud to announce that our video series for the International Center of Photography's 29th Annual Infinity Awards has been awarded Honorable Mention in the Best of Photojournalism Visual Column category. First place is MediaStorm contributor Scott Strazzante of the Chicago Tribune for "Shooting From The Hip." Second place is Barbara Davidson of the Los Angeles Times for Framework, and third place is Michele McNally and the staff of The New York Times for the LENS blog. MediaStorm was also awarded Honorable Mention in the Documentary Multimedia Story category for "Swan Song." The BoP Awards honored many excellent multimedia pieces this year. First place in the Multimedia Story category went to Rick Loomis of the Los Angeles Times for "A Soldier's Wife." Second place is The New York Times for "Invisible Child: Dasani's Homeless Life." A story called "The Jockey" by Chang W. Lee, Barry Bearak, Michele McNally and the staff of The New York Times won Best Use…

NPPA Best of Photojournalism Awards 2013 Announced

MediaStorm is honored to announce we have won first place in the Best of Photojournalism Documentary Multimedia category for A Shadow Remains produced with Phillip Toledano. Former MediaStorm intern, Andrew Hida, took second place in this category for Follow My Steps. Third place went to "Gayla's Goodbye" by Dai Sugano for the San Jose Mercury News. The BoP Awards honored many excellent multimedia pieces this year. Alan Spearman and The Commercial Appeal swept the awards with "Memphis Poverty: What Obama Didn't See," which won Best Use Of Multimedia, first place for Feature Multimedia Story and honorable mention for Multimedia Package. "Framework" by Albert Lee of the Los Angeles Times won first place in the Multimedia Package and the Visual Column, Recurring Series or Visual Blog categories. MediaStorm Receives Best of Photojournalism Awards

We are pleased to announce three MediaStorm projects were honored in the 2012 Best of Photojournalism awards. A Thousand More received first prize in Web Sites: Feature Multimedia Story and Honorable Mention in Web Sites: Best Use of the Web. NPPA’s Best of Photojournalism 2008 Winners Announced

The judging for the NPPA's 2008 Best of Photojournalism Awards was completed this past weekend. We are excited to announce that MediaStorm.org placed in three categories: First Place, Documentary Video: "Black Market" Patrick Brown / MediaStorm.org Second Place, Feature Audio Slideshow: "The Ninth Floor" Jessica Dimmock / MediaStorm.org Third Place, Best Multimedia Package: "Black Market" Patrick Brown / MediaStorm.org Additionally, MediaStorm Multimedia Producer Chad A. Stevens placed First in the Feature Video Category for "Kentucky Reptile Zoo", and was also a part of the Soul of Athens Project, which won First Place for Best Multimedia Package, Second Place for Documentary Video, for "Be Not Afraid", and Second Place, Feature Video, for "Surgery of the Soul".
