MediaStorm Honors Veterans

As Veterans Day approaches, we would like to take a moment to remember the many men and women who have shared their stories of war, loss, and love with us. Today, we share these films to honor their sacrifices and thank them for their service:

The War Comes Home, by Soledad O’Brien and MediaStorm , takes an intimate look at two veterans as they struggle with the transition from war to home. The film first aired on CNN and pays tribute to the invisible wounds of too many of our soldiers.

Homecoming tells the story of Major Amy Quesenberry’s transition from solider to civilian.  The veteran unemployment rate is nearly double the national average. That is simply unacceptable to Starbucks’ former CEO Howard Schultz, who believes that veterans can become assets to any company.

To those who serve in the armed forces, what is the impact of war? The Marlboro Marine is photographer Luis Sinco’s portrait of Marine Corporal James Blake Miller, whom he met in Iraq. For Miller, coming home has been its own battle.

For each of the more than four thousand U.S. soldiers killed in Iraq, there is an American family undone by grief. Never Coming Home takes us inside these families, to meet the people and sift through the emotions that are left behind.

Thank you to all the individuals and families who shared their stories with us, and thank you to all those who continue to serve.
