The MediaStorm Post-Production Workshop is an intensive, hands-on educational experience in advanced post-production for video and multimedia projects.
Participants will work with a professional editor/producer to turn their existing assets into a professional-quality, ready-for-publication digital multimedia story or short video.
Tuition is $1,000 per day per participant.
Note: Attendees are responsible for their own room and board during all workshops.
The workshops will be based at MediaStorm's office in Brooklyn, New York. Dates are flexible. Please indicate preferred dates on your application form.
Interested applicants must fill out the online application. Once you submit the form, you will not be able to edit it. We strongly recommend copying the questions and working offline, and then pasting in your answers so that you don't lose any information.
This personalized workshop is designed to give individual participants a comprehensive post-production experience. A MediaStorm producer will work side-by-side with you on your existing project to craft a complete multimedia story.
This immersive approach allows MediaStorm producers to tailor instruction to individual participants. Regardless of previous experience level with the tools and media involved in the storytelling process, participants will be able to focus where they need to and work at their own pace.
Participants will have access to MediaStorm's tools, facilities and producers in New York City. The structure of the workshop is flexible and can be adapted to the participant's needs.
Out of town participants are expected to arrive in New York City the evening before the workshop begins.
Note: There will be one Producer assigned specifically to your project for each workshop. Producers may vary from workshop to workshop.
What gear will I need to bring? Will anything be provided?
We will be providing high-end Macintosh computers and all software needed for the post production workstations.
Each participant should also bring an external hard drive with 250GB of free space so they can take the final project with them.
Can more than one person participate at a time?
This Workshop is designed to be an intensive one-on-one editing and production experience. That said, if you have a team of editors interested in participating, please contact us at info@mediastorm.com to discuss options.
Do I need to come with a finished project or will I be able to shoot while I'm there?
Participants are expected to come with completed assets to produce a multimedia project. If you are looking for a comprehensive shooting and production workshop, check out our Advanced Multimedia Reporting Workshop in New York City.
Where will participants stay?
Participants are responsible for their own room and board. We will provide local hotel and neighborhood information to accepted participants. MediaStorm is easily accessible by subway, so location is flexible.
Do you offer introductory workshops?
No. We feel there are already several terrific workshops out there offering introductory and intermediate instruction (see below), so we are focusing exclusively on advanced training.
Are there other workshops like this?
We think the MediaStorm Workshops are unique because of the small number of participants and the focus on advanced multimedia storytelling. With that said, there are a number of great workshops to consider:
