Jenny Hayes has been producing community events on a volunteer basis for almost 10 years in Kearney, MO, a rural town of about 8,500 people 30 minutes north of Kansas City. Two of those years she owned and operated a community theater and event space. Professionally, she spent 20 years in the financial services arena as a financial advisor and operations and compliance manager at UBS Financial Services. She earned a B.S. in Business/Marketing at the University of Missouri’s Bloch School of Business and holds several securities licenses. She recently served two terms as city alderman, an elected official for the City of Kearney.
In 2010, her role as founder and president of the Kearney Enrichment Council sparked a desire to combine her passion for business and creative arts into one community project. That project became the Firehouse Center for Creative Excellence. As a youth entrepreneurial center with a multimedia studio at its core, the Firehouse will capture the history and bring to life the people of the community through multimedia storytelling - providing young people invaluable experience and resume building opportunities.
As she makes the transition from live productions to multimedia storytelling, she will give her traditional community a voice in this post-modern media world.
