Juan Paulhiac is a social researcher and documentary photographer with an academic background in performing arts and visual anthropology. After obtaining a Ph.D. in Aesthetics, Sciences and Technologies of the Arts at Paris 8 University, he worked as a postdoctoral researcher at the School of Higher Studies in Social Science in Paris and as Research Coordinator in the private-public sector in Colombia. He has taught research and fieldwork methodology for undergraduate art students and has been jury for the Foundation for New Latin American Journalism (FNPI) photography awards.
Juan participated in the December 2017 MediaStorm Methodology Master Class. He had the following to say about his experience:
MediaStorm's Methodology Workshop gave me a valuable set of tools and knowledge to approach social research and documentary photography from a storytelling and character-driven perspective.
