Sharlene Rood is a multimedia journalist who feels happiest with a camera in hand, and when she is able to stand behind the lens. She completed her BA Languages (Journalism) degree at the University of Pretoria in 2009 and spent five months selling newspaper subscriptions (The Daily Telegraph) in England before opting to do live in care work.
Upon her return to South Africa she wrote articles for The Media Magazine and Wits Business School Journal. In 2011 she joined Media24 and wrote about sport in schools. In 2014 Sharlene started working as a multimedia journalist, producing mainly short news videos for Media24 ever since. She got married to her best friend Quentin in 2014. Making compelling documentaries on a regular basis would be a dream come true for her.
