Morten Stricker was born in 1977 in Denmark. He began a internship of photography in 1998 and has been a staff photographer with the daily newspaper ”Dagbladet Holstebro-Struer / Midtjyske Medier” since 2001.
Stricker has won several awards and honors for his work, including ”Editor’s Choice” at EPA and ” Best newspaper page of the year” at DDF. The last two years he has won “The Visual Award” at The Danish Union of Journalists District 5.
In 2013 he and the journalist Henrik Breum published the book ”Udsendt for Danmark” about three Danish soldiers in Afghanistan and how their service affected their families at home.
Morten participated in the November 2013 MediaStorm Methodology Workshop. He had the following to say about his experience:
”The Methodology Workshop at MediaStorm was a eyeopener for me as a still photographer. I realized how important sound really is if you want to tell the stories that affect people. I came home with new important tips and tricks for my toolbox. It was helpful for me to find my roots of storytelling, and why I became a photographer in the first place. I highly recommend this workshop to anyone who is in the media industry, if they want to survive in the media-war, where quality is significant.
