Kavita Menon is the editorial director for Doctors Without Borders/ Médecins Sans Frontières (MSF-USA). She has more than 20 years of experience in journalism, human rights advocacy, and international affairs. Before joining MSF in 2017, she worked with the International Crisis Group as the head of communications for North America. She previously worked as a freelance reporter, campaigner and researcher on South Asia for Amnesty International, and head of the Asia program and senior program officer for the Committee to Protect Journalists. She has reported in India, Pakistan, Afghanistan, Nepal, Sri Lanka, Indonesia, Thailand, and the United States. She has contributed articles and feature stories to the Boston Globe, International Herald Tribune, Los Angeles Times, Ms. magazine, National Public Radio, Pacifica Radio, and WNYC. In 2003, she received a Pew Fellowship in International Journalism at the Johns Hopkins School of Advanced International Studies. She holds an MS from Columbia University’s Graduate School of Journalism and a BA from the University of California at Berkeley.
