Danish photographer, Charlotte Oestervang, knows how to take a fantastic portrait. Several years ago, when she applied for the Berenice Abbott Award, I saw her beautiful silver gelatin prints from the series, Portraits from Eastern Kentucky and knew that she was a force to be reckoned with–her work in person was stunning and incredibly moving.
Charlotte received her BFA at F.A.M.U. in Prague, and then attended a one year program in Documentary Photography at ICP in New York. She has garnered numerous awards and exhibitions. Heso Magazine had a great interview with Charlotte last year.
Johnnie Footman, 90, may be the oldest cabbie in New York City. His age limits his time in the cab, but he remains young at heart carrying a cigar in his mouth and a cap reading: "Old Dude made of Achey Breaky Parts."
