Andie Rea is an award-winning visual media creator inspired by the power of story to shape ideas and create change. Currently a Park Fellow within the visual communications program at UNC’s School of Media and Journalism, Andie is interested in creating issues-focused multimedia. She is also curious about the research methods used to evaluate the social impact of issues-focused documentaries. Andie has served as the board president for Southern Documentary Fund, a nonprofit arts organization cultivating documentary projects made in or about the American South. In five years, Andie hopes to be pushing boundaries in the documentary film industry as a filmmaker and impact producer, with plans to pursue a future career as a multimedia professor.
